Warm Ambient Lighting
Pieces chosen for the warmth of light they give. We recommend warm-white bulbs (around 2700K) throughout, so the light feels restful rather than clinical — soft ambient lighting for unwinding spaces.
Warm Ambient Lighting at Pale Meridian
Ambient light is the soft, general light that fills a room, as opposed to a bright task light over a worktop. The pieces here are the ones we'd reach for at the end of the day: the Rice Paper Globe Pendant Light, the Sculptural Rice Paper Floor Lamp and the cordless Marble Rechargeable Table Lamp.
For a restful room, layer two or three low light sources rather than relying on one overhead light, and choose warm-white bulbs around 2700K. Dimmers help too. Our lamps list whether they dim and how on each product page.
What bulb do these take?
Each product page lists its own bulb and base. Most pieces take a standard E27 or E14 bulb, and bulbs are sold separately unless the page says one is included. A warm-white bulb, around 2700K, gives the softest light.
Are these plug-in or hard-wired?
It depends on the piece, and every product page shows its own fitting. Floor and table lamps are usually plug-in or rechargeable. Pendants are usually hard-wired, and we recommend a qualified electrician fits them.
How often do new pieces arrive?
Slowly and on purpose. We add one piece at a time, only when it gives the kind of light we want to sell. The newsletter is the easiest way to hear about them.
